Bismarck, ND – Karen Tyler, North Dakota's Securities Commissioner, has been appointed to serve a two-year term on the Consumer Advisory Council for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards.The CFP Board of Standards is a national professional regulatory organization that establishes and enforces education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements for Certified Financial Planner certificants. The Advisory Council is comprised of 9 members who have distinguished themselves in relevant consumer services fields and professions. Council members provide the CFP Board with broad-based advice on the information and educational needs of consumers on issues related to personal financial planning.Tyler was appointed North Dakota Securities Commissioner by Governor Hoeven in July of 2001.
